What I Do

I work with individuals who want change, seek out the paths to success, and are committed to realistically making positive things happen in their lives.

With my hand on my heart, I can say my passion has become my profession. I enjoy meeting people and discovering new and fascinating facts about their lives, past and present. As well as hearing their plans and future aspirations. It is that very thing that keeps me in the field; no two days can ever be the same. No two situations are alike, making my days diverse regardless of the similarities.

The variance can be found in the differences in lifestyles, people, characters, backgrounds, cultures, and the environments they have adapted to make them unique.

A Little Bit About Me

I grew up in Hackney, East London, a vibrant part of London that has seen much change over the years. I enjoyed my childhood and attended Gayhurst Primary School, followed by Raines Foundation School in Bethnal Green. My memories are filled with love and laughter. Growing up in East London can be very exciting at times. It is colourful and provides much understanding of the different social levels and issues. The borough has an array of people from many cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Making it a cool and exciting place to be.

Along my travels and daily business, I constantly remember good times and times that have shaped my life for the better. I dare not call them bad, as every cloud has a silver lining.

As a child, I loved science and problem-solving; I studied Biomedical Science and Nutrition at the University of North London.

Huh, I know; how did I get into financial services from there? You see, life exists with many paths to follow in one lifetime.

Upon completing my time at Uni, I had a rethink about life and decided that science was not the route for me.

It wasn’t easy making that decision. However, I believed that ‘as long as I went onto do something with meaning, the title didn’t matter.’

From there, I spent much of my early twenties exploring different industries. I have worked in the Retail, Insurance, Marketing, and, later, Banking industries, providing me with broad fields of knowledge. I can now see that the various roles have shaped me into who I am today. Nothing has been in vain.

Adult Life and Motherhood 

In 2002, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, now 6ft 4” and eats a lot. We are the A-Team; we have much fun together on holidays and enjoy giggles; he always laughs at me. Following much success with his GCSEs and A-levels, he is now studying at university.

Motherhood is not an easy task, but every part is worth it.

My experience and understanding of raising a child are invaluable and worth sharing.

Mentors and competent counsel never go far, even as a point of reassurance.

I worked full-time as a mother and have personally felt the pain of childcare and the associated cost of raising a child.

I offer words of wisdom to other parents.

I joke, saying, “Children would be so much better if they came with a manual.”

Work-Life

For the last 20 years, I have worked in the regulated financial services industry. I qualified as a financial advisor in 2005; I specialise in UK Property, Business and Personal Protection as a proud member of Moneysprite Ltd.

Moneysprite is a five-star, award-winning financial services company based in the heart of the capital.

I hold an array of qualifications and experiences in crossfields—inside disciplines such as business, accounting, mentoring, and
training. I emanate tremendous passion and enthusiasm, guaranteeing something new and dynamic in financial management.

In 2007, I took a ‘leap of faith’ into the independent world of self-employment. I left the constraints of a 9-5 role and have never looked back.

At the time, my need was flexibility. I had to concentrate on my family and career simultaneously, and work did not allow this to happen.
As a single parent, the work-life balance I craved was more significant than the income stability of a wage - Upon reflection, tough
decisions pay dividends. I am finally reaping the rewards.

In 2023, I was honoured to win the Individual category as a DEI Mortgage Intermediary Trailblazer Award.

As well as nominated for Wise Women and Women in Finance Awards.

As well as a successful banking and financial services career, I have dedicated myself to knowledge sharing and networking.

I would say I am a motivated speaker and dedicated blogger. Writing is a way of expression and an excellent source for increasing a creative spirit.

Over the years, I have become passionate about financial education and interested in the black and ethnic minority communities,
micro-business owners and families. Ensuring I assist with the challenge of raising the financial capability of our nation.

My Vision

Using my wealth of financial expertise, I specialise in promoting healthy and financially sound choices suited to every client’s needs
and aspirations. I am dedicated to helping people achieve their goals through business and strategic life
planning. Celebrated by my clients and through their success. I tell them, “Their success is my success.”

I keep standards high, continuously working on my personal and professional development.

I hold the client’s aspirations at the front of the agenda.

I have a signature mentoring style and give all my clients a Financial HUG^® which I describe as honest, unique and genuine advice. You can’t give a hug without receiving one back.

A hug ‘can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.’ I work to remove the fear, frustration, and fluctuance often associated with financial management, embedding a feeling of confidence, which makes room for individual success.

My vision is to provide accessible knowledge shared in a fun and interactive way using four delivery channels.
